-How to spot plastic rice:
1- Water test: Place a tablespoon of rice in a glass of water. Real rice will sink, while plastic rice may float due to its light density.
2. Fire test: Place a few grains of rice on the flame using tongs. Real rice will burn and give off a toasted odor, while plastic rice will melt and may give off a plastic odor.
3- Boiling test: Boil a small sample of rice and watch the water. Real rice produces some starch on the surface, while plastic rice may leave a strange residue.
4- Mold test: Cook some rice and leave it in a warm place. Real rice rots, but plastic rice is unaffected.
